Brothers

       

    Ever since I was young 

    for as long as I can remember 

    I've had two heroes in my life

    of course, they are my two big brothers .

                      ******

    When I was just a little tyke

    the world was filled with wonder.

 

    Riding my trike 

    dreams of big boy bikes

    I wanted to ride along

    with my two big brothers!

 

    Just like Evel they would dare

    to jump off ramps and street gutters.

    When they'd land I would scream and yell

    for them to jump and land another. 

 

    The joy I had when Mom and Dad

    brought me home my first two-wheeler.

    With training wheels and a little bell

    I chased after my two heroes.

 

    Down the block they did go

    faster than I could follow.

    I could hear them laugh and shout

    while I just cried and hollered!

 

    I remember when I followed them

    to the park one day

    They climbed the outside of the Rocketship

    I was blown away!

 

    Don't you dare to climb up here

    and when I shouted why

    They looked down at me and laughed

    " You'd fall off and die!"

 

    I didn't care if I was scared

    the choice,I had no other

    To reach the top of the Rocketship

    so I could be like my brothers.

 

    No one there to stop me

    I accomplished my big dare

    I reached the top of the Rocketship 

    I was proud and I was scared.

 

    Finally I saw them , staring up at me

    Jamie said " Climb down before you fall off

    or worse...

    Dad finds you up there

    and spanks you and Rob and Me!

 

    Both of them, they clapped my back

    and punched me in my arms 

    Told me they were proud of me

    and glad I was unharmed. 

 

    Let's keep this as our secret

    don't you say a word

    "We will let you ride your bike with us

    It's a" Right of Passage "

    We think it's been well earned !!"
