Daydream

 

    Hoping for distraction
    on a dreary, boring day

    I reached for my favorite stories
    a place to hide away 

    I searched the 100 acre wood
    to see who I might find

    When I stopped at Rabbit's house
    all I found was a mess
    that Pooh Bear must have left behind 

    I went to ask Louis Carroll
    if Alice might come out to play

    "No" he just shook his head
    "She and Hatter have up and run away !"

    I asked if he'd seen Cheshire Cat
    "Not a hair or his silly grin!"

    A smile appeared above his head
    and just as suddenly disappeared 

    A fond farewell I bid his tale
    I found myself waking in a dream

    'Lo and behold my journey took me
    into a land of make believe

    Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum
    were pouring tea
    into tiny tiny cups

    Kanga and little Roo were sipping it
    in little bitty gulps

    The March Hare and Tigger
    were bouncing off the walls

    Eeyore and the Church Mouse
    were dancing on the lawn

    Alice and Pooh Bear
    were walking hand in hand

    Hatter walking next to them
    a honey jar balanced on his head

    It really was quite magical
    this little party to behold

    As suddenly as it started
    I sat up and I awoke!!
