Insomnia

 

    The peace of sleep - suffocating
    gasping for air - surfacing

    Was it a dream? I'm sweating!!
    maybe a long lost memory?!

    Mind flashing! hands to head - scratching
    hoping for a peaceful retreat 

    No such luck! Do I get up?
    Should I try to find the dream?

    The dream calls - entices!
    fading fast it retreats 

    Running fast - I stumble and gasp
    tracing the path back towards the land of dreams 

    No such luck! I get up
    and trace the path back towards my coffee pot
