Sleepless

    Sleep defies the nighttime
    moonlight paints the wall

    Memories come to surface
    inviting shadows call

    Elusive dreams taunting
    stars twinkling remind

    Comfort of sleep refusing
    a peaceful nights respite 

    Morning paints the skyline
    eyelids finally flutter close 

    The alarming clock ringing
    time to get up and go
