The Argument

    Do you listen to the voices

    we all have deep inside 

    Do you ask them life's meaning?

    Do you think it's just nonsense 

    cluttering up your mind!?

               ************

    All the little voices 

    arguing deep inside 

 

    The war for all ages 

    between my heart ,soul and mind.

 

    Do I listen to them disagree?

    Do I ignore them once again?

 

    Which one will I give into

    while they make their arguments. 

 

    My heart beats out its message 

    " Love should make the rules!"

 

    My ego says "that's nonsense "

    calls my heart a “silly fool!"

 

    My soul is torn 

    a part of both

    wonders how to end 

    this bitter feud?

 

    In my mind I know

    love has played me for the fool!

 

    In my heart I know 

    love's message 

    is the precious truth!

 

    Inside I find the answer 

    that I know is sooth

 

    Mind and heart

    must work together 

    To make a soul 

    complete and whole.
