No Deal

    Standing at the crossroads
    no sunshine on my back

    

    Wondering where my mojo's gone
    why my luck has turned so black

    Looking back behind me
    there lies a trail of tears

    No turn of a friendly card
    just a roadway filled with fear

    Kneeling at the crossroads
    I put my head in hand

    Asking for forgiveness
    and the strength to make a stand

    Suddenly before me
    a man is standing there

    With a smile that's to easy
    and a look no one can bear

    He says he can help me
    with everything I lack

    It'll only cost you your soul
    that's not too much to ask

    I feel a strength within me
    A light that fills my soul

    Telling me my redemption
    is not the easy road

    Standing up with dignity
    I turn and walk away

    I leave him at the crossroads
    So I can live another day
